Who is Baby Watson?
Introduced more than 25 years ago, Baby Watson cheesecakes
are renowned in the New York Metro area and in many other
areas throughout the country. Originally produced at a plant
in Manhattan’s Chelsea section, the products were named
by the original owner and creator, Mario D’Aiuto, who
had grown up in a family-owned bakery business. After gaining
some success for his mini cheesecakes, he was dissuaded from
using his own name on the product, since colleagues thought
it would be too hard to pronounce. He choose “Watson”
because he thought it sounded “American” and he
added the “Baby” since “everyone loves babies”.
Acquired by Mother’s Kitchen in 1998, the famous Baby
Watson brand remains a favorite for its unique size, shape
and delicious taste.
